Kyu, like the letter Q

Kyu (pronounced like the letter Q) is a 12-year-old singer, songwriter, and ukulele player who recently moved from Seattle, Washington to Franklin, Tennessee. Despite her age, Kyu has already built an impressive live performance résumé. In Seattle, she became a regular busker at the Ballard Farmers Market, performed throughout the city's open mic scene, and played with her youth band, Rocktopus. Those experiences gave her confidence on stage and sparked a love for connecting with audiences through live music. Today, Kyu is beginning an exciting new chapter in Tennessee while writing her own original songs and performing songs written by her dad, whose music has been a big part of her musical journey. Her sets blend heartfelt originals with an eclectic mix of covers from artists like Zach Bryan, Sublime, and Lucinda Williams. Zach Bryan is her favorite artist, and you'll almost always hear one of his songs in every performance. Whether she's playing at a farmers market, coffee shop, open mic, or community event, Kyu loves sharing stories through music and hopes every audience leaves with a smile. Someday, Kyu dreams of performing on the world's biggest stages—but she also hopes to be a librarian, historian, detective, and full-time crafter. Until then, she's happy doing what she loves most: playing her ukulele, writing songs, meeting new people, and sharing music one performance at a time.
