Tommy Wheatley Trio

Tommy Wheatley, Ben Cannon & Arthur Andre bring a fresh and entertaining performance to any venue they play, that ranges across numerous styles and “vibes” of music. From Appalachian stringbad/bluegrass roots, to folk, rowdy blues, indie, classic rock, they are sure to take the audience on an exciting journey. They also have plenty of jokes and banter between songs! Much of their unique style comes from there three different musical influences and upbringings blending together! The frontman and songwriter for the trio, Tommy Wheatley is originally from West Virginia. This upbringing lead him to naturally be heavily influenced by Appalachian folk storytelling, mountain string bands, bluegrass, and more. He also has many Mississippi roots, which made him fall in love with the delta blues. Tommy takes an extremely intimate approach to songwriting, with most of his songs having been written in seclusion while working and living on farms. This rawness and authenticity shows in his sound and lyrics. Ben Cannon, who can be found playing everything banjo, mandolin, bass, as well as backing vocals is also a very accomplished and talented musician himself. Ben is a singer-songwriter born and raised in Franklin, TN. Ben was drawn to music from a young age. He started playing bass at age 7 and later picked up the electric guitar in middle school, learning the riffs of Van Halen and other classic rock icons. His journey into songwriting began during his high school and early college years under the guidance of his grandfather, Rich Gootee, a Grammy Award-winning songwriter. Ben has a successful solo career as well when he’s not picking and grinning with the Tommy Wheatley Trio. Finally, the trios lead guitarist, Arthur Andre. Originally from France, Arthur is an extremely talented and versatile guitarist. He has made a living from music since his early teen years, traveling around Europe with bands and cutting his teeth amongst some of the most talented musicians in the world. Arthur can play a vast range of guitar styles to fit nearly any genre. From flat picking, the shredding, to fingerpicking, he can do it all. Where he truly excels however , is his mastery of slide guitar, leaving audiences in awe at each performance. What makes the trio perhaps most enjoyable and unique is that these three and very close friends outside of music, and that energy shows on stage, ensuring there is never a dull moment !
