Molly Brown

Toronto-born singer-songwriter Molly Brown has been surrounded by music her entire life. With a classically trained pianist for a mother and a father who kept guitars scattered around the house, it was only a matter of time before she started strumming and singing along. Inspired by the timeless sounds of Carole King, James Taylor, Linda Ronstadt, and The Beatles, Molly fell in love with honest songwriting and soulful storytelling at a young age. In 2009, she followed that passion to Berklee College of Music in Boston. Her powerful voice and heartfelt songs quickly caught attention, leading her to perform at Berklee’s Commencement Concert before 7,500 people—sharing the stage with legends like Willie Nelson, Carole King, Kris Kristofferson, and Annie Lennox. The performance was streamed worldwide and featured in Rolling Stone and Huffington Post, marking an unforgettable moment early in her career. After returning to Toronto, Molly recorded her single “Travel in Twos” with award-winning fiddler Anne Lindsay at Blue Rodeo’s Woodshed Studios. A year later, she released her debut EP, The High Road, thanks to fans who helped her raise over $13,000 through Kickstarter. The record earned critical praise, landing at #9 on Queens of Country’s “Top Female Country Albums of 2016”, and songs like “This Town” and “Montana” became fan favorites on Canadian radio. Molly’s songwriting soon earned her national recognition. Her song “White Horses” received Honorable Mention in the International Songwriting Competition and later won the ASCAP Foundation Peggy Lee Songwriting Award, which she accepted by performing the song at Carnegie Hall. Even Tanya Tucker praised the track, saying, “Somebody is missing the boat here. This girl is incredible.” From 2019 to 2022, Molly hit the road full-time, touring the U.S. as guitarist and backing vocalist for Tim Montana (Broken Bow Records) and sharing stages with ZZ Top, Kid Rock, Travis Tritt, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and more. Now based in Nashville, Molly continues to grow as an artist, performer, and storyteller. Her new music, set for release in 2025, dives fearlessly into the Rock/Americana world—gritty, honest, and overflowing with soul. With 70’s-inspired guitar tones, raw emotion, and vocals that cut straight to the heart, Molly Brown’s next chapter promises to be her boldest yet.
