A soulful singer-songwriter with classic rock roots, Steven performed full-time solo acoustic in the Nashville scene before medical treatments interfered. A renewed gratitude in his return to the stage only amplifies his stress on human connection. At each song’s core is the fight to remain optimistic with music as medicine.
A soulful singer-songwriter with classic rock roots, Steven was born in the Midwest and spent his teenage years in Denver where he began writing songs in private. He began performing at The Map Room in St. Louis and his neighborhood pub, Thurman’s, which gave him the leeway to try new songs he’d write in his free time as a teacher. He released his first solo project (Steven J Push) in 2016 before moving to Nashville, following up with a four song ep in 2018 (The Road). Steven eventually performed full-time solo acoustic in the Nashville scene before a Hodgkin’s lymphoma diagnosis forced a break from performing in 2022. A renewed gratitude in his return to the stage only amplifies his stress on human connection. At each song’s core is the fight to remain optimistic with music as medicine.
