Kennedy Scott and Woody James, together called “Carolina Pine,” have toured nationally as an opening act for Alan Jackson, amassed millions of views across YouTube and Facebook, sold out theaters as headliners, and earned a #1 song for six consecutive weeks on Bluegrass Music TV. Carolina Pine is currently recording their debut full-length album and planning a summer 2026 tour.
Woody and Kennedy both relocated to Nashville in 2015, each pursuing independent careers in country music. They first crossed paths outside the Ryman Auditorium before heading to their respective Broadway gigs. Woody, rooted in classic country with influences such as George Jones and Hank Williams, and Kennedy, shaped by a folk background inspired by Emmylou Harris and Townes Van Zandt, formed an immediate musical connection. That connection led to the creation of Carolina Pine. Since joining forces, the duo has toured nationally as an opening act for Alan Jackson, amassed millions of views across YouTube and Facebook, sold out theaters as headliners, and earned a #1 song for six consecutive weeks on Bluegrass Music TV. Carolina Pine is currently recording their debut full-length album and planning a summer 2026 tour.
