Honky Tonk Dave

Honky Tonk Dave brings the sound, style, and good-time spirit of traditional country music to stages across Middle Tennessee. Based near Nashville, Dave performs classic honky-tonk, western swing, original songs, and dance-friendly country favorites with a lively four-piece band featuring drums, bass, steel guitar, electric guitar, and acoustic rhythm. Dave moved to Nashville in 1998 and has spent decades performing, writing, and recording country music. He has played hundreds of shows in downtown Nashville, recorded multiple albums, and worked for more than 25 years as a demo singer for studios and songwriters throughout Music City. He has also performed for the Country Music Hall of Fame and has a publishing deal with K2 Publishing. As a singer, songwriter, and rhythm guitarist, Dave draws heavily from the golden age of country music. His sound is rooted in the honky-tonk, shuffle, and Nashville country traditions of the 1950s and ’60s, when songs told memorable stories and steel guitars were front and center. The band also reaches into later decades and is not afraid to play some “newer” country—even songs from the 1990s. A Honky Tonk Dave performance combines heartfelt country songs, upbeat shuffles, familiar dance-floor favorites, original material, and a healthy dose of fun. The goal is not to present country music as a history lesson, but to keep its traditional sound alive in a way that feels energetic, welcoming, and entertaining. Dave is currently working on his next record, tentatively titled *Vintage Country Sounds*. The project will feature original songs and performances inspired by the classic Nashville and honky-tonk records that shaped his musical style.
