Ian Abel Band

Born in Nashville and raised in Kentucky, Abel has grown into an award-winning guitarist, songwriter, powerhouse vocalist, and frontman whose career has taken him from legendary Los Angeles clubs to the Grand Ole Opry and stages packed with thousands. A Gibson- and Fender-endorsed artist, Abel has toured as lead guitarist for T. Graham Brown and Dillon Carmichael, played the Grand Ole Opry twice, and shared stages with Miranda Lambert, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Randy Houser, Brothers Osborne, The Band Perry, and Diamond Rio. His song “Shoes” was licensed by Cody Rhodes for his historic match against Dustin Rhodes, earning Abel a Hollywood Music in Media Award nomination. But the accolades only tell part of the story. Abel’s greatest strength is his instinct for what a song needs. His guitar playing can be explosive or restrained, his voice gritty and soulful, and his live performances built around dynamics that can take a room from a whisper to a roar. Drawing from Southern rock, blues, country, Americana, jazz, classical and psychedelic music, he weaves decades of influence into a sound he calls “Space Cowboy.” Think Southern grit colliding with psychedelic atmosphere—Chris Stapleton meets Pink Floyd, with Abel firmly in his own orbit. Today, he leads the Ian Abel Band with the experience of a seasoned road musician and the hunger of an artist still pushing forward. A full-length album is currently taking shape with musicians from the touring bands of Eric Church and Randy Houser—friends Abel has made along the way.
