Henry Cruz

From Nashville, TN, The Henry Cruz Band is an up and coming rock group fronted by Henry Cruz, songwriter, frontman, and arranger for the band. Growing up in the Nashville area with two artistic parents, Cruz was always surrounded by music and art. Henry became involved in music early on, beginning to play guitar and the drums at the age of 2, as well as picking up bass, percussion, and keys in the years following. At 17 Henry began to write original music and step into the role of lead singer in addition to playing lead guitar. The now 20 year old frontman takes inspiration from a range of artists spanning from the blues and country driven sounds of John Fogerty and Eric Clapton, to the abstract lyricism and attitude of acts such as The Black Crowes and Bob Dylan. After becoming involved in several bands and other musical endeavors, in July of 2022 Cruz formed the Henry Cruz Band, a group specifically created to play his original songs. The five piece group’s music is comprised of straight ahead rock and roll, and given that every member is a multi-instrumentalist with a background in jazz and/or blues, the group sequents a sound that is as much rock as it is fused with a diverse array of genres. Henry’s songs explore the wild nature of the world we live in, often with a look inwards at the self. The band is more than capable of taking on tight arrangements for original music as well as indulging in jams and lengthy stretches of improvisation. With a live show encompassing a wide variety of strong original music and tastefully picked covers, the Henry Cruz Band will provide live experience you won’t forget.
